Austin Bartz
Owner, CEO
I'm the owner and CEO of Bartz Lawn & Landscape, and I'm involved in every part of the business — from the first conversation with a client to the final walkthrough on a finished project. My background is in business and marketing, and I'm a graduate of the University of Northwestern - St. Paul. I handle billing and a large part of the office work, put together project estimates, and work directly with clients on design and scope to help bring their vision for their property to life. I also oversee our crew schedules, run our advertising, and manage client relations — so you're always talking to someone who knows your project inside and out. One of my favorite parts of this business is working alongside my wife in the office and running the company with my brother — my dad is right there with us too. Having my family by my side day to day makes the work even more meaningful, and I'm grateful to be building something together with them. I love our staff just as much; we're all great friends, and I couldn't imagine this job without them. We're in it together — helping each other out, raising families, and serving Christ. A verse I live by day to day is Ecclesiastes 2:24-25: "A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?" I believe work is good for us, and for men like me it helps us find purpose — but our real purpose and identity is found in Christ. At the end of the day, this work is about more than landscaping for me. I do it to glorify God, serve others, and spend my time outside doing something I love. There's nothing better than taking a client's idea and turning it into something real. I'm especially passionate about paver patios, drainage solutions, and trees — I've been called a "tree nerd" more than once, and I wear that title proudly. My favorite thing to design and build is French drains, downspout systems, and water mitigation projects — it's what our company does best. Outside of work, I'm married to my wife Mikaela — we tied the knot in June 2026. We live in Shoreview with our cat, Dakota. Funny enough, I strongly disliked cats before I met Mikaela, but Dakota's earned a soft spot in my heart. This will be our one & only animal we ever have, so I am enjoying her while we have her in our lives. In my free time, you'll find me hunting, fishing, shed hunting, or spending time with my wife — and when I'm not out there, I'm usually reading up on something new in landscaping and construction, since I never stop learning the trade. Whether I'm behind the desk handling the details or out on-site with a client, I like to stay hands-on with everything we do. My goal is simple: make sure every property we touch looks great, and every client has a great experience working with us

Connor Bartz
Owner, President
I own and operate Bartz Lawn & Landscape alongside my brother Austin. My main responsibilities center on day-to-day operations, training our team, and keeping the shop and equipment running smoothly. Most days you'll find me on the jobsite making sure everything runs efficiently and is done right, then back in the shop each evening getting things squared away and ready for the next day of work. I've been landscaping since I was 12 years old, working full-time through middle school, high school, and college. After finishing college, I realized landscaping and construction were more than a job — they were my passion, and I couldn't picture myself doing anything else. I take pride in making job sites look amazing and bring a perfectionist's attention to detail to everything I do. I've been married to my wife, Laiken, for 4 years, and we've been blessed with two wonderful children, Brooks and Berlyn. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, and pretty much anything that gets me outside in God's creation.

Mikaela Bartz
Office Manager
My role at Bartz Lawn & Landscape is primarily focused on keeping the behind-the-scenes operations organized and running smoothly. My day-to-day responsibilities include managing accounting tasks, working in QuickBooks, processing payments, and handling a variety of miscellaneous office and administrative responsibilities. I enjoy taking care of the details and helping ensure that the many tasks that happen behind the scenes are completed accurately and efficiently. Before joining Bartz Lawn & Landscape, I worked at a bank as an assistant to a financial advisor and also gained accounting experience working with home care agencies. These experiences helped me develop strong organizational, financial, and administrative skills that I now bring to my role with the company. I enjoy this work because I love being able to support my husband, Austin, and our family by helping take responsibilities off their plates and allowing them to focus on other areas of the business. I am naturally detail-oriented and organized, and I enjoy managing tasks, creating order, and making sure the little things that can easily get overlooked are taken care of. Outside of work, Austin and I recently got married and have been enjoying married life together! We also have one cat, Dakota, who loves to play, snuggle, and talk. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, staying active, living a holistic lifestyle, reading, and traveling. My specialties include organization, task management, attention to detail, and taking initiative to complete the important behind-the-scenes tasks that others may not always have time to get to. I am very Type A and enjoy creating systems, staying organized, and making sure things get done accurately and efficiently.

Dave Bartz
Operations Manager
Although I’m officially retired, I still enjoy staying busy and working alongside my boys at Bartz Lawn & Landscape. I continue to work most days and enjoy being able to lend a hand wherever I’m needed. Over the years, I’ve gained a wide range of experience in commercial building maintenance, construction, drywall, painting, landscaping, and irrigation. I enjoy putting that knowledge and hands-on experience to work, helping the team solve problems, tackle projects, and get the job done right.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping. More than anything, I love spending time with my wife, kids, and five grandchildren. Being able to work alongside my family while staying active and doing something I enjoy is one of the things I appreciate most about this stage of life.

Luke McCann
Operations Manager
My day-to-day role at Bartz Lawn & Landscape is truly a “boots on the ground” position. From working as a crew member on large projects and leading smaller jobs to mowing, improving our shops and trailers, maintaining equipment, completing individual construction projects, and much more, there is never a dull moment at Bartz Lawn & Landscape. I grew up in Marshfield, WI, where I ran a small landscape and construction company for eight years. After graduating from business school at the University of Northwestern, I tried three different business jobs before quickly realizing that I wanted to get back into the trades. I also enjoy spending time learning and practicing new skills around my own property. I love this work because of the variety we experience from day to day. I enjoy being outside in every season, working with my hands, and taking on the mental and physical challenges that come with the job. Outside of work, my wife, Gretta, and I have one son, and we enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including biking, hiking, camping, and exploring God’s creation. We also love spending time with family and friends. On the weekends, you can usually find me working on a house project, taking a sauna, cooking a healthy meal, or training for a run or ski race. My specialties include detailed work on projects, construction, and homeowner services. I bring a balance of both problem-solving and hands-on skills to the team and am often one of the go-to guys for construction-related work. I also serve as a backup for the mowing route. Without a doubt, the best part of my job is the incredible people who make up the Bartz Lawn & Landscape team.

Brock Burggraff
Landscape Technician
My day-to-day work at Bartz Lawn & Landscape includes basic landscape work, maintenance, and assisting with the mowing route. I have three years of landscaping experience and earned a certificate in Landscape Construction from Hennepin Technical College. I enjoy this work because it keeps me active and on my feet while giving me the opportunity to learn real-life skills and work as part of a team toward a shared goal. Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors camping with my family, catching up with friends, and going on fun dates with my girlfriend. One of my biggest specialties is maintaining a positive attitude through all situations, whether at work or in everyday life.

Ben Kirby
Landscape Technician
I've been part of Bartz Lawn & Landscape since 2021, alongside working as a real estate agent. I love being outside, staying active, and doing hands-on work, and there's nothing quite like watching a project come together from start to finish. I take pride in doing quality work and jumping in wherever I'm needed. Most days you'll find me behind the wheel, hauling materials and supplies to the jobsite and making sure the crew has everything they need to get the job done right. I also handle a lot of our deliveries for DIY customers who want the supplies but prefer to tackle the project themselves. Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my wife and our two young kids. We enjoy traveling, hosting friends and family, getting outdoors, and making the most of our time together. I’m someone who likes to stay busy, work hard, and be part of a good team.

From Wednesday through Friday, I work alongside the rest of the crew on a variety of landscaping projects. I enjoy this work because it allows me to learn many different skills that will benefit me later in life.
